Hey everyone, so we made it safe and sound!

it's about 9:30 here ans we have recieved a warm welcome from the missionaries Tim and Meradeth as well as the interns staying here.
tomorrow we get up and and board a bus a head for bongolo hospital where we'll be the next five days.
We arrived at night so tomorrow will serve for a better day of reporting what everything looks like here. it is pretty humid, lots of palm tree's, the streets were flooded with people and we did see some marketplace type shops between the airport and here.
well more details tomorrow, need to get to bed and sleep for our big trip tomorrow.

And away we go!

Today we begin our journey! In just a few hours we will be boarding the plane heading first for a layover in Paris and then onto Gabon!
The first leg of our trip will send us out to Bongolo Hospital where we will be helping to build/repair a road. Hopefully the 10hr bus trip to Bongolo will go smoothly, literally the road leading there is incredibly bumpy we are told!
We'll also be able to explore the area there during our few days there including some caves.
After our work there is done we'll tarvel back to Liberville we're we'll be spending the rest of our time working with kids at an orphanage, running a vbs and whatever else they have for us to do.
Personally, a little bit nervous but a lot more excited for this adventure. It will be awesome to report back throughout the next two weeks on what God is doing in Gabon, we're expectying big things!
Please pray for our safe travel, and health during this time.
Will try to get updates on here on a regular basis :)

SSCC Teen Mission to Gabon!!!!

It's about that time!!! After a over a year of hardwork and preperation the teen of South Shore Community Church Bridgewater (along with adult leaders) are off to Gabon Africa to serve and love people in need.
Saturday afternoon (7/11) nineteen of us will board an airplane and the adventure begins!
Below for this first post I've just posted why we are going on this trip.
During our stay we will update this site regularly with what we're doing, as long the internet allows us too!

Why Gabon?
The people of this country need the hope and healing that can only come from our Savior Jesus Christ. Their world view is based on fear and they have traditions of animistic rituals & beliefs. Although there is a lot of oil in Gabon, very few people profit from this natural resource leaving the average family living in poverty. Along with the poverty, the nation is being quickly ravished by the AIDS epidemic. We strongly believe that this people group needs to know the saving grace and hope that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ, and desire to move forward in bringing practical humanitarian relief to this people group. We are so excited & honored to have this opportunity to partner with the church and people in Gabon Africa. We would like to ask you consider joining with us in serving the people of Gabon. We need people who will commit to praying for us daily as we embark on this trip, while we are there and after we leave. Pray that God will prepare us well before we go. Pray that He will protect us, give us insight and wisdom to lead this group in Africa, and ultimately the lives of the Gabonese people and our team will be eternally changed.
