SSCC Teen Mission to Gabon!!!!

It's about that time!!! After a over a year of hardwork and preperation the teen of South Shore Community Church Bridgewater (along with adult leaders) are off to Gabon Africa to serve and love people in need.
Saturday afternoon (7/11) nineteen of us will board an airplane and the adventure begins!
Below for this first post I've just posted why we are going on this trip.
During our stay we will update this site regularly with what we're doing, as long the internet allows us too!

Why Gabon?
The people of this country need the hope and healing that can only come from our Savior Jesus Christ. Their world view is based on fear and they have traditions of animistic rituals & beliefs. Although there is a lot of oil in Gabon, very few people profit from this natural resource leaving the average family living in poverty. Along with the poverty, the nation is being quickly ravished by the AIDS epidemic. We strongly believe that this people group needs to know the saving grace and hope that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ, and desire to move forward in bringing practical humanitarian relief to this people group. We are so excited & honored to have this opportunity to partner with the church and people in Gabon Africa. We would like to ask you consider joining with us in serving the people of Gabon. We need people who will commit to praying for us daily as we embark on this trip, while we are there and after we leave. Pray that God will prepare us well before we go. Pray that He will protect us, give us insight and wisdom to lead this group in Africa, and ultimately the lives of the Gabonese people and our team will be eternally changed.

  1. You've got my prayers, buddy. Most people have told you, "Be careful and come home safe." I say: Be reckless and come home different.
